If you need help for a mental health crisis, emergency or breakdown, you should get immediate expert advice and assessment. We have listed some of the ways in which you can do this.

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Call 0800 58 58 58 from 5 pm until midnight, 365 days of the year.

SHOUT Crisis Text Line

Shout is an affiliate of Crisis Text Line® in the UK that provides free, confidential support, 24/7 via text. It’s the first free 24/7 texting service in the UK for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. Shout is available in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Text SHOUT to 85258 in the UK to text with a trained Crisis Volunteer.

Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline

Switchboard LGBT+ is a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including sexuality, gender identity, sexual health and emotional wellbeing. Call 0300 330 0630. Lines are open 10 am – 10 pm every day.

National Domestic Abuse Helpline

Contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0800 2000 247 available 24-hours a day, for free and in confidence.
